There are several ways to explore the distinct countries of Europe, one of them is by travelling on land, within a guided tour or on your own, which I explain in more detail in another one of my biographies. 

Then there is River and Ocean Cruising as a means to travel in Europe.

River Cruising I find to be one of the most relaxing ways to travel. While in destination, it gives you the choice to explore on your own, to do a regional bike tour, a combination of both or join a group tour with a guide, giving all the history and stories of the different sites.

The ships enhance the local experience through special meals created from local ingredients and through local entertainment, invited to perform onboard of the ship.

Ocean Ships are larger than River Cruise Ships and, due to the size of the ships, they usually dock in the major cities. On the way to your next destination you will see picturesque landscapes passing by, like the Norwegian Fjords or the Dalmatian Coastline.

You might need to take a taxi or public transportation to go into the cities where you dock, or you can take an excursion organized by the cruise ship. Personally, I like to take an excursion when on an ocean cruise, as it allows me to see a lot of the destination in a relatively short period of time.

The advantage of travelling on a ship is  that the ship is like a floating hotel, allowing you to unpack only once. Also, all the meals and entertainment are included.
