My love for cruising launched shortly after the pandemic. I went from never having been on a cruise to sailing several different lines. I am a Master Cruise Counsellor (MCC) which is a high-level certification given by Cruise Lines International Association. I am also working on my ECC certification which I hope to complete this year. Upscale cruises or premium cruise lines are a step-up from mass-market cruise lines. They are usually enjoyed by adults, but many offer programs for children as well. These cruise lines are for clients looking for an elevated dining experience and better guest to staff ratio. Families looking for a quieter and more relaxing vacation may also prefer upscale cruise lines versus the mass-market ones.  

Celebrity Cruises is part of Royal Caribbean Group. Adults whose children are grown may eventually prefer Celebrity to Royal Caribbean. There are much less adventurous activities on Celebrity compared to Royal Caribbean, but still plenty of activities. They have a status match program so if you have status with Royal Caribbean, you would also have status with Celebrity. V

irgin Voyages is one of the few options that are guaranteed to be adult-only. They are an adult-only cruise line that is known for doing things a little different. Their fare is more inclusive and includes wi-fi, fitness classes, specialty dining and gratuities. The ship caters to passengers looking for a relaxing vacation and those looking for a party-vibe.

Azamara is a destination-focused cruise line. Itineraries are port-intensive with few days at sea and lots of time in port. Their small ships allow them to explore destinations that many other cruise ships simply can’t access due to their size. Azamara is technically not adult-only, but they have zero to offer for children. As a result, your sailing will most likely be adult-only.Please reach out to me about planning your next cruise!
