About Me

The holidays are supposed to feel joyful — twinkling lights, cozy gatherings, maybe even a festive getaway to somewhere snowy or sunny. Yet for many travelers, December can bring a different kind of excitement: crowded airports, flight delays, and a rush to make it all happen.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Over the years, I’ve helped countless travelers plan holiday getaways that are smooth, peaceful, and even magical. Whether you’re heading to the Christmas Markets of Europe, visiting family, or escaping to warmer weather, here’s how to keep your holiday travel stress-free.

1. Plan Early — Then Stop Worrying

The biggest cause of holiday travel stress is last-minute planning. The best solution? Start early and trust your plan.

When you book through a travel advisor, everything — flights, transfers, hotels, even dining reservations — can be arranged months in advance. That means no frantic searching for sold-out flights or overpriced hotel rooms.

Once it’s handled, you can focus on the fun parts: packing gifts, choosing outfits, and imagining the view from your balcony suite on that Christmas river cruise.

2. Travel During the “Shoulder” Days

If you can, avoid peak travel dates like the Friday before Christmas or the Sunday after New Year’s.

Flying out one or two days earlier can make a world of difference. Airports are calmer, lines are shorter, and you’ll start your trip with a sense of ease instead of exhaustion.

For example, when I help clients book flights for December cruises or European getaways, I always recommend arriving a day or two before departure — it gives you time to adjust and explore.

3. Pack Smart and Light

It’s tempting to bring your entire winter wardrobe on a festive trip, but strategic packing will make your life much easier. Stick to versatile pieces that layer well and can be mixed and matched.

A few essentials:

  • Compression cubes to save space
  • Neutral layers that work for both day and night
  • One pair of great shoes that can handle walking and look good at dinner

And always keep a small “holiday survival kit” in your carry-on: chargers, snacks, medication, and one cozy item (like a scarf or socks) for comfort.

4. Build in Buffer Days

This one’s a game-changer. If you’re traveling over the holidays, add one buffer day on each end of your trip.

That extra day gives you room to handle flight changes, adjust to time zones, and actually enjoy your destination instead of rushing from one place to another.

5. Focus on Experiences, Not Perfection

Holiday travel isn’t about everything going perfectly — it’s about creating memories.

Whether it’s sipping mulled wine under sparkling lights or laughing through a snowy misstep, these are the moments you’ll remember. Let go of rigid expectations and focus on connection, not control.

6. Leave the Details to a Professional

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself during the holidays is support.

A professional travel advisor (that’s me!) can handle logistics, find hidden deals, monitor changes, and ensure your journey stays on track — so you can focus on the joy, not the juggling.

Keep the Magic, Skip the Mayhem

The holidays come once a year, but the memories you make while traveling can last a lifetime. With a little planning and the right guidance, your next holiday getaway can be peaceful, festive, and stress-free.

Matt planned our 10 day trip to Ireland including personal drivers each day. Ou daily activities started at 9am each day. We saw and experienced everything there was to do each day. Matt provided tour guides for the 2 of us. At ages 80 and 82 it was a dream trip for us. Best Company Trip I’ve Ever Been On
Reviewed By Ana C - Reno, NV | Traveled to Las Vegas | Nevada | USA
From the moment we landed in Vegas, everything felt effortless. Flights, transfers, and hotel check-in were smooth, and it was clear this trip was extremely well planned. The private dinner at Bourbon Steak was next-level — incredible food, amazing service, and such a special atmosphere for our team. Renting out Swingers Mini Golf for the after-party was such a fun and unexpected touch. Huge credit to Matt for creating an experience that felt both luxurious and genuinely fun. He gave plenty of communication about which flight I was placed on along with a detailed itinerary.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.
