First of all, I would like to recognize Sylvia’s outstanding customer service. She was given our itinerary of the cities we were visiting. She even worked out situations for a fellow traveler who changed the itinerary more than three times. We visited the beautiful city of Palermo and put us in the amazing hotel of the Grand Piazza Borsa. It was steps away from the busy avenue yet close enough to walk to various restaurants and shops. Sylvia gave us recommendations of sites to see. We visited the Norman Palace which is a Unesco site along with the Cappaella Palatina. We took a side trip to Agrigento and visited the Valle. De Templi. We continued our way to Calagirone. The quaint small town had one hotel called Caltagirone Villa San Mauro. The hotel was also outside of the town square. We were able to visit La Scala. It is several steps up to the church. We were able to climb up the bell tower and get a view of the town. The best part of the location of the hotel is an amazing Italian local restaurant. The name of the restaurant is Giarderno Vacco. Their customer service is top notch and the food was so delicious. On our way to Taormina, we stayed at Baia Taormina. It was served miles from the city center. The view was magnificent of the costal shore. It was definitely a nice oasis from the busy sites. We were able to visit the Greek Theatre and visited the cute shops and eat at a popular sandwich place. Next door to the sandwich place was a place called Pistachio. They had the best gelato there. We then drove to the Gambino winery. We had lunch with our tasting. I highly recommend this winery. Our last destination was Catania. Sylvia booked us in a beautiful and centralized hotel in Catania. It was walking distance to so many eateries and places to visit. One of our visits was to the World War II museum. We walked back to our hotel and ate at the local restaurants just around the corner from our hotel. Thank you Sylvia for our memorable trip.
