Travel has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and after more than 17 years in the travel industry, I still get excited about helping clients discover new destinations and create memories that will last a lifetime.

As a Certified Travel Counsellor and owner of McPhail Travel, I believe that exceptional travel planning goes far beyond simply booking a vacation. My role is to guide clients through the entire process—from the initial ideas and inspiration to the moment they return home with stories to tell. Attention to detail, personalized service, and thoughtful planning are at the heart of everything I do.

One of the greatest advantages I bring to my clients is firsthand travel experience. I have explored more than 30 countries across six continents and have a passion for both adventure travel and authentic cultural experiences. My travels have taken me surfing along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and Nicaragua, sandboarding down the slopes of a volcano, ziplining through tropical forests, white-water rafting, snorkeling, and rappelling down waterfalls.

In Ecuador, I ventured deep into the Amazon Rainforest, staying in an eco-lodge and experiencing one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. I also had the opportunity to explore the remarkable Galápagos Islands, a destination unlike anywhere else in the world.

Some of my most memorable experiences have been found in destinations that many travelers never consider. I have stood before the ancient city of Petra in Jordan, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and explored the breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage landscapes of AlUla in Saudi Arabia. Throughout Europe, I have experienced everything from vibrant cities and charming villages to historic landmarks that have shaped centuries of history.

Closer to home, I have traveled to Churchill, Manitoba—the Polar Bear Capital of the World—where I observed polar bears from a tundra buggy, watched thousands of beluga whales from Zodiac boats, and explored the historic Prince of Wales Fort on the shores of Hudson Bay.

My areas of expertise include adventure travel, small group travel, custom itineraries, destination weddings, honeymoons, luxury travel, cruises, guided tours, and multi-generational family vacations. Over the years, I have coordinated more than 30 destination wedding groups ranging in size from 10 to more than 90 guests. Managing group travel requires organization, communication, and attention to detail, and I take great pride in ensuring every traveler feels supported throughout the planning process.

I particularly enjoy designing customized journeys for travelers looking to go beyond the typical tourist experience. Whether that means exploring the Amazon, embarking on an African safari, discovering hidden gems throughout Europe, sailing on an expedition cruise, or celebrating a special occasion with family and friends, I love helping clients find experiences that match their interests, travel style, and comfort level.

The travel industry is constantly evolving, and I am committed to ongoing education and professional development to ensure my clients receive the most current information, advice, and recommendations. My goal is always to provide honest guidance, insider knowledge, and a seamless planning experience.
