“Ireland, I am coming home…”
Garth Brooks captured the very essence of Ireland in those lines—its rolling fields of green, its ancient stone fences, and that deep sense of belonging. There’s something about the richness of Ireland’s landscape that instantly grounds you, making you feel connected to the land, as though you’ve always belonged.
Dublin is the perfect gateway to Ireland, offering a vibrant mix of history and culture. From the breathtaking Book of Kells, steeped in centuries of artistry, to the iconic Guinness Storehouse and the majestic Dublin Castle, this city pulses with life and heritage, a starting point for every great Irish journey.
Then there’s Kylemore Abbey—my first view was like something out of a dream. The misty fog hung low over the fortress as the cool morning air enveloped me, and I could hardly believe my eyes. It’s one of those rare places that overwhelm the senses; you’re unsure where to look, your gaze dancing from one magical corner to the next. The gardens, tranquil and lush, evoke an unshakable feeling of home. Ireland home.
At Giant’s Causeway, you can feel the weight of legend beneath your feet. Were Ireland and Scotland once connected, as the tale of the giants Benandonner and Fionn suggests? Or is it just a geological marvel? Either way, standing there among the towering basalt columns, you can’t help but feel small, yet exhilarated by the sheer wonder of it all.
What about the Blarney Stone? Is it even a true Irish adventure without that strange ritual—lying on your back, being lowered by your ankles, just to kiss that mystical rock perched atop a castle? The myths and legends swirl around it, but no matter what, it’s an iconic piece of any Irish experience.
And then, the Cliffs of Moher—majestic, windswept, unforgettable. I’ll never forget walking along that dramatic coastline when a hat went sailing over the railing. What do you do in that moment? Do you help the poor man who’s lost his hat? Nope! Too risky! Instead, I offered him some positive thinking and a few encouraging words, and watched as he heroically retrieved it. That moment, that wind-whipped, heart-stopping scene, will forever tie me to those towering cliffs and the wild, untamed beauty of Ireland.
Ireland isn’t just a place—it’s a feeling, an adventure, and, most importantly, a home.
