Are you an avid knitter or fiber lover? Would you love to find a way to combine your love for travel with your love for knitting?

I understand you! I have been an avid knitter for more than 25 years, and a yarn lover for as long as I can remember. Combining knitting with travel brings together two of my favorite things. With 12 years of travel planning experience, planning travel for knitters was a natural fit for me!

Join us for one of Blue Sky Destinations' pre-planned knitting vacations and travel with a group of fiber-lovers! Explore the world while you deepen your knowledge of your craft and make new friends. These trips and cruises are designed with the avid knitter in mind, and include yarn crawls, knitting instruction, knit-alongs, and plenty of time to pursue your craft and connect with fellow knitters. All levels of knitting experience are welcome, from beginner to advanced, and we also include lots of fun extras such as raffles and prizes! 

Non-knitters are also welcome on all of our journeys - take advantage of the group pricing and the fun community while you see the world. And who knows - by the end of the trip you may be a knitter yourself!

Knitting and Wine on the Rhine, September 29 - October 6th, AmaWaterways Captivating Rhine Sailing from Amsterdam to Basel on the beautiful AmaSiena

 Grab your yarn and your needles, and join us for this amazing journey as we sail from the historic and beautiful city of Amsterdam down the Rhine River to Basel, the gateway to the Swiss Alps. Joining us on this trip will be Marion Carling, expert knitter and knitting instructor, and owner of Village Wool in Glastonbury, CT.

All are welcome - beginning knitters, advanced knitters and non-knitters! There will be something for everyone. 

A river cruise is slow travel, down the ancient rivers that were the highways of Europe for centuries. Our sailing ship, the AmaSiena, is a beautiful and intimate sailing vessel, with less than 160 passengers on each ship. And these ships dock right in the heart of every port of call: you will literally walk off of your "floating hotel" into the heart of the cities and towns you visit.

We will travel into the heart of Germany's fairy-tale region, sailing through some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. Medieval castles, the Rhine Gorge and the Black Forest are all part of what you will see as you float down this ancient river.

You will visit four countries:

• Amsterdam in The Netherlands
• Cologne, Heidelberg, Rudescheim and Breisach in Germany
• Strasbourg in France
• Basel in Switzerland

After daily excursions - you will have a choice between fiber-focused excursions, and ones that explore local history and culture - imagine relaxing on the deck of this beautiful ship, enjoying the scenery and the company of your fellow fiber lovers, knitting and glass of wine in hand!
