River Cruising Aficionado

River Cruising gives you the opportunity to unpack once and explore multiple destinations. The ship serves as a floating hotel. It is truly my favorite mode of transportation.

A few things set river cruising apart from other forms of travel:

• The ships are much smaller and very intimate which gives you the ability to form friendships with like-minded travelers.
• You are less likely to experience motion sickness, which is great for me given I have experienced motion sickness on multiple occasions    
• You get to visit smaller towns and villages which allows you to really immerse yourself in the local culture and avoid tourist crowds
• Your cruise fare is very inclusive and in many cases even offers complimentary excursions   
• River cruises offer guided tours or you can explore on your own — you really can get off and walk around given how close you dock to the city
