Caribbean Destination Specialist

The Caribbean is a fascinating and beautiful part of the world with each island country having its own unique history of colonization by the Europeans. These influences can be seen in their culture, language, and cuisine today. But perhaps the reason many people visit these islands is the sheer natural beauty of the beaches, lush landscape, and idyllic climate.

I have been to Barbados numerous times and one of my favorite memories is when my husband and I took our three kids who were teenagers at the time on a family vacation there, and we found a local gem. We noticed that there was always a line at one food stand which happened to be across the street from our hotel, so we went there one day to see what all the buzz was about. We made our way to the front of the line and ordered what everyone else was eating, the famous flying fish sandwich with secret Barbadian fish sauce and a fried egg. We liked it so much, we went back every day for the remainder of our trip for breakfast. So, if you find yourself in Barbados, make sure to visit Cuzz’s Fish Stand and order the flying fish sandwich.

Another memorable experience was on our swimming with dolphins and snorkeling excursion which was amazing. We were swimming alongside dozens and dozens of spinner dolphins and as a bonus on our return trip back we saw a mother whale with her calf!

A favorite Caribbean destination with many of my clients is Turks and Caicos. With its beautiful beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and the 4th largest coral reef in the world, it is no surprise that many have the best trip of their lives here. I have sent several families to the private island resorts of Sailrock and Ambergris Cay. Sailrock has ocean view suites and beachfront villas. The 3- and 4-bedroom villas with private pools are a great choice for families. Ambergris Cay is an All-Inclusive private island resort, and each bungalow has its own private plunge pool. They offer a wonderful, deserted island experience where guests are taken by boat to a nearby uninhabited island and dropped off for the day with a picnic lunch until they are ready to be picked up.

Some of the other islands I have been fortunate enough to visit include Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, St John, St Thomas, St Maarten, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Antigua, and The Bahamas.
