The Majestic Princess takes on Glacier Bay

Alaska had always been on my bucket list and I knew that I would visit at least once. It was intimidating as I begin to think about visiting the 49th state which is twice the size of Texas and full of glaciers, mountains and bears! I began to learn more about the Great Frontier through my extensive Princess training, I felt more comfortable with Alaska and I knew it was time to visit this Great Land and definitely wanted to sail with Princess. After checking out all the awesome itinerary choices, I felt that a South to North Voyage of the Glacier 7 Night Cruise with Princess Cruise line would be the perfect introduction to Alaska! This fabulous itinerary included two scenic glacier viewing days and visits to Skagway, Juneau, Ketchiken and our amazing day at Glacier Bay National Park which was definitely the highlight of our Voyage of the Glacier Cruise! When it comes to the best viewing opportunities in Alaska, Glacier Bay National Park frequently ranks among the best for its natural scenery, wildlife spotting, and the unique learning opportunities available to travelers visiting on a cruise ship. It was a spectacular way to experience Glacier Bay National Park and learn directly from the park rangers. Every month during the May to September Alaskan season is spectacular! May is typically a great month for spotting whales, orcas and bears. June and July typically offer the mildest weather. The rainy season arrives in August, though you can typically find discounted cruises in May and September. We decided that we would travel to Alaska over the 4th of July holiday and we were so surprised that the weather was mild and pleasant and we loved the long days of sunlight! Since then, we have traveled to Alaska twice during July and a September cruise is next on our list!  In my opinion, there really is no bad time to take a cruise to Alaska.
