I especially love river cruises, because they're so easy. You pay for most everything before you go, and then you don't have to worry about opening your wallet again while aboard the ship. As for the ports, they're typically quaint little villages that make you feel like you've stepped back in time.

The one thing that's not easy about cruising? Booking them. There are so many decisions to be made when it comes to selecting the best cruise line, ports and excursions.
