This summer, I hired a travel agent for the first time in my life, and learned one thing: I will NEVER book another trip by myself. Working with Mike Salvadore was quick, easy, completely painless, and absolutely fabulous! When I called Mike, I was extremely far behind on my travel plans-I was simply stuck. I was traveling to a country that I'd never visited, and I didn't know where to begin.
Mike met with me for a short period of time, and asked me questions about the types of things that my family likes to do on vacation, as well as budget and timing. The next thing I knew, Mike & his team presented a detailed presentation of our trip. This was not an easy trip to book. The trip included flights to several island locations, cars to inland destinations, and local-flavor excursions. One great surprise was the wondrful private tour guide that took us to see the ruins in Delphi and Olympia. Mike also found the MOST fabulous hotels, And most importantly, it was all EASY !

Mike was excellent! He asked all the right questions up front to help discern what kind of experience we wanted to have, and what type of travelers we were. We'd never used an agent before and we not sure what to expect as we're incredibly picky and like to be in control. He was great at incorporating our wishes and requests into the trip, suggesting things we hadn't thought about, and really taking care of all the logistical elements for us as that's the part we dread. He was responsive and available when we ran into an issue while on the trip, and immediately worked to fix it for us and it ended up being one of the best days of an already amazing trip. Mike helped make booking our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico so easy and stress-free! We gave him a list of things we wanted on our resort as well as some activities and excursions. The resort Mike found for us was the Ocean Maya Royale, and it was absolutely beautiful! It was our first trip to Mexico and we could not have asked for anything more :) We took a Catamaran boat tour to the Isa Mujeres, went snorkeling in a lagoon, toured a cave, and went ziplining. We had a blast! I highly recommend going through Mike for your vacation needs, I know we will definitely be using his services in the future!

I could not be more blown away and thrilled with the two-week trip to Italy that Mike put together for me and 10 of my friends to celebrate my 50th Birthday.

Amazing Rome Adventure

I booked a trip with Mike to safari in South Africa that was scheduled for Summer of 2020 and I have no idea what we would have done without him. Mike was proactive and helpful as we went through the complex process of moving the trip out to this year and making changes to the schedule. We never could have done it on our own. On top of that Mike planned us a vacation that exceeded our expectations in every respect. We were not sure what we wanted the trip to be and he was detailed in his suggestions and patient with our indecision. Mike Salvadore is a rare professional who is on his game every minute. If the separation is in the preparation, he's your guy. Mike's first trip he planned for us was a complicated two-week trip to Japan for six of us. He knocked it out of the park. We upped the ante when we next asked him to plan a trip to Egypt, for 38 of our friends and family. We just returned and every one of our travelers said the trip far exceeded their highest expectations. You can trust Mike with any travel planning, simple or complex. His travel partners on the ground have consistently been best-in-class. Mike is willing to share his extensive travel knowledge and experience on a range of subjects, and happy lets you decide whether to book through him, or book on your own. There is a vampire character from The Twilight Series, Jasper. (I had teenage girls at one time so it was mandatory reading). Jasper has a special power to calm the emotions of people around him. I have taken to calling Mike "Jasper". When you communicate with him he has an uncanny ability to calm any situation. Because as it turns out, calm, competent, experienced professionals are exactly what you need in a travel advisor. I can't imagine using anyone else for our travel. The trip was amazing- such a great mix of food for the soul and food for the body. so meaningful to have spent some solid time in Lourdes, it worked out that the train strike tuesday took travel out of our hands as an option! The tours were good. we had a stand-in on the lourdes tour as the guide had a sick child, and the substitute was probably less knowledgeable but had her own flavor and insights, especially related to her life as a farmer in the region ?? which i enjoyed. the food tour in San Sebastian was great, very good guide, and the e-bike tour was also a great way to see the city and the guide was great too. Amazing Anniversary trip to Bali

Over the last year we have been working with Mike to plan our 10 year anniversary vacation to Bali. We just got back and he knocked it out of the park! We spent the first half of our trip in Ubud and the second half in Seminyak. The hotels that Mike picked were absolutely perfect. Beautiful, romantic, comfortable. He let each hotel know that it was our anniversary and they both had special ways to congratulate us. We were in Bali for 10 days, but we were able to do so many more excursions than we would have otherwise because of how well everything was planned. Mike worked with partners to execute all of the excursions, so we were with the same guide and driver the entire time. We didn't have to think about how to get anywhere or where to go because the guide and driver were so familiar with the areas and the activities that everything worked like clockwork. We had an awesome trip. We loved our time in Buenos Aires. But Lago Grey Lodge and our time in Torres Del Paine was a real highlight. We really liked all our guides - in particular, Tiko in Rapa Nui was great. He plays with family members in a cultural show 3 nights per week called Kara Kara that we attended on his recommendation. It was fantastic. No major challenges. We had our one delayed flight from Peurto Natales to Santiago that got us in late and changed our Santiago tour to the last day instead of that night but that actually ended up working out better as it gave us an activity on our last day. The best trip imaginable

We were BLOWN away by how wonderful everything was. To start, the villas were beautiful; and continued to get better through the trip with each location. Absolutely a combination of romantic yet breath taking views. Our guide, Agung, was absolutely phenomenal and would recommend no other in Ubud. He was so informative and hospitable.
Our activities were awesome. We were able to squeeze in atv riding and some monkeys while there. Although, the swings were shut down due to weather on days we had time, the weather only hindered our trip once. It was our last full day, to watch the kecak dance and dinner. Even mountain biking was fun, even though we were definitely sore the next few days. Between that and trekking large stairs, we certainly got our workouts in. Our favorite, of course, was the Balinese spiritual healing, energy transfer, and palm reading. We also learned we needed the healing after coming back up those stairs to the temple (??).

Beyond our expectations

Many moments were beyond what we could have even imagined. Though I usually plan our own trips, Greece was an unknown to me. We decided to use Michael because he had expertise in the area. More than we realized.
His choices of hotels and activities showed he really listened to what we wanted. We received what we asked for and more and stayed in our budget.
A couple of glitches...
The AC at Ionian Blue was not worthy of a 5 star hotel. It never was lower than 25° C. Jim moved our bed directly under the unit so we could sleep at night. Otherwise the amenities and service were stellar. Being able to jump into the Ionian Sea from the dock made us forget about the AC.
Finishing the trip at Athens Capital Center with a day of no activities was perfect. Close enough to sight see if we wanted or just stay put and enjoy the pool with a view of the Parthenon.

One of my favorite guides we met through Mike is someone I now have had him book for me THREE times!!! Another favorite experience; I think this might have been the third trip, he suggested a hotel stay way off the beaten path in Tuscany and it was our whole group's favorite!! The special extras we got there were so unexpected and made it even more fabulous which I couldn't have imagined. I won't go anywhere now without Mikes thumbs up! I should also mention that it is very comfortable for me to be honest about my budget which may change depending on the trip, I don't have to pretend I am someone I'm not!

We absolutely loved Italy and were not wanting to come home. Our favorite experience was Capri with the private boat tour and the private tour with Paolo. Everything went so smoothly without any hiccups. We loved everything we had scheduled and the free time to go explore the cities on our own. Our guide, Gennaro in Amalfi Coast, was absolutely incredible and adjusted our days to have the best experience with the weather. He got us a private pizza making class in Naples with a professional pizza maker. He made Naples one of the spots we wished we spent more time in. Overall we had a great time and we are excited to go back in the future.

Well done. Highly recommended!! Our Greece trip was great - really liked the logistics of going to Athens (city, historic sites, great food), Crete (largest island, lots to explore in hiking the gorge, loved that, and taking the ferry along the Southern Coast, wineries), and Santorini - crowded yes, but postcard perfect and we really enjoyed the catamaran - it was much more than a sunset cruise with stops at swimming locations l along the way. The bike ride was a great surprise because it allowed us to see a quieter side of Santorini, and our guide was great getting into the small backstreets of the neighborhoods. Hotel was also great/beautiful views, intimate, Staff was great).

Our Honeymoon

Mike helped plan our honeymoon, which was an absolute dream of a trip. He organized everything for us. When he sent over the first draft out our itinerary, there were a few things we wanted to change, & he was able to do that no problem. When we arrived in Greece, EVERYTHING was taken care of for us. The pick-ups, drop-offs,, excursions, etc. He also planned several/all of our tours privately, so we were not with a huge group, which we appreciated. It was a much more authentic, personal, and intimate experience. We had never used a travel agent before, so when we asked for a zoom meeting to get to know Mike better, he was able to arrange that quickly. Mike also planned the trip perfectly, starting with a busy schedule towards the beginning of the trip, that slowly tapered into a more and more relaxing experience as we went on. An unequalled six weeks in Japan

Mike designed an amazing Japan trip with some especially hard parameters that we imposed. We will definitely work with him again. We had already decided on a motorcycle group trip and wanted to add a week prior and two weeks after, so there were some complex tie-ins. For example, we kept the rental motorcycle for a week and Mike figured out a great route from Kyoto forward, allowing us to return the bike in Nagoya before flying yo to Kyoto for a few days. The logistics were perfect, and the local guide selection was key to our experience. We experienced the best of Japan, from luxury hotels to local ryocans. Thanks Mike!

Honeymoon to remember

We had a wonderful experience in both Bali and Vietnam! The guides assigned to us: Wes, Pho and Vinny were excellent. We can't thank Mike enough for arranging our Italy trip this fall. Everything went so smoothly, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves immensely. The first part of our trip was set through Mike with Firebird Tours which was excellent. We were traveling with a group of 8 (including us) which made the experience much more intimate and special. Favorite Vacation

We decided to celebrate our 30th anniversary we would go to Greece. We have always made travel arrangements ourselves accepting that there may be some “hiccups” along the way. We wanted this trip to be special. Mike arranged a trip that well exceeded our expectations. Traveling this summer has not been easy, particularly with flights. We did not have any issues and were grateful for only one stop each to and from Athens. Each hotel was a perfect choice for us. Our hotel in Naxos was amazing.. We were very happy to be staying in Imerovigli in Santorini. I do not think we could have experienced this trip without Mike’s expertise. Due to wind, on the morning that we were scheduled to take the ferry from Naxos to Santorini, all ferries were canceled. Their partner in Greece, AFEA particularly Afroditi was in touch with me all day. She booked us on a later ferry and communicated with transfer and hotel. I highly recommend 58 Stars and will be working with them on our next adventure.

I'll start off by saying that this was the best vacation of our lives - it couldn't have been better! Working with Mike was a breeze - he made it incredibly easy for us. He listened to what we wanted and made an itinerary, fitting in everything we wanted to do (and we wanted to do a lot of things) and giving us a few options on hotels/activities. The hotels we stayed at were unbelievably beautiful and luxurious - honestly, they were probably the best hotels we've ever stayed in. There were no glitches the entire time because Mike made sure everything was seamless throughout. Mike has been truly professional. I started working with him in 2020 when I was trying to figure out how to get to Europe with all of the various travel restrictions. He took a small deposit and then worked with me continuously until we made it happen. My flight had delays and false information but Mike and his team worked very hard to help calm my nerves and find out what was actually going on (even on a Saturday). Moving onto 2021, Mike set up a fantastic trip to Greece for me and my partner. He helped with Safari suggestions for Africa and a flight back to the US over Christmas. In 2022 he has provided suggestions for trips to Italy, France, and even Morocco. A Dream Trip

Our trip was amazing! It was the right balance of learning something about the area and relaxing. I feel like we started and ended our days at the perfect time. Each guide was incredible and really fit our style of travel. Mike really took our personalities in account. Everything we did was seamless thanks to our guide and driver. The food and activities plan were all so perfect. It leveled up our entire experience to not have to worry about logistics or making sure we went to the best places in each town we stopped in. We couldn't have done this trip without Mike and his team. I won't travel without him ever again.

Contacted Mike because my brother used his services for his trip to Italy and he was raving about his trip. So I had a last minute opening in my schedule for the last week of august and first week of September. So of course I waited until august to contact Mike... He asked me what type of vacation we like to have and he was able to put together absolutely amazing trip for my family of 4. We travel frequently and before we had to think of everything, hotels, tickets, transfers, things to to, places to eat, etc. Mike took care of everything. We got the itinerary with all the contacts, schedules, and so on. Everything went as was explained and without any hiccups!
Will definitely use Mike again for future trips to Europe.

Dream Honeymoon!

Mike helped us plan our dream honeymoon. He was very knowledgeable about the Greek Islands and was helpful addressing any questions we had about each of the locations. Seamless booking process with hotels and excursions. We originally booked for June 2020, had to cancel twice and finally went this past September. Mike stayed in touch with us through the whole process (over 18 months from our original booking) and kept us updated on openings, travel restrictions, etc. We would highly recommend Mike for anyone looking to book a vacation in the Greek islands! Mike did an absolute AMAZING job and made our honeymoon unforgettable. He was extremely patient with my husband and I as our plans and timeline changed multiple times and he was super accommodating. We gave him a general idea of things we wanted to do and he went above and beyond with the experiences he planned. It was so nice to be in a foreign country and have everything taken care of for us (transportation, amazing hotels, experiences and more).
