My passion is travel! Having sold my advertising agency, I bought half of a travel agency and reimagined it. We're redefining luxury travel by curating deeply personalized experiences built on strong global partnerships. Our focus is on crafting meaningful and well-considered journeys for discerning clients. My aim is to create exceptional travel experiences that our clients will adore and to cultivate this same client-centric approach within our team of travel advisors.
I've explored a ton of incredible places around the world – from Southeast Asia and Japan to New Zealand, Australia, and all across the Americas and the Caribbean. Living in Europe for a while gave me a real feel for its different cultures, which adds a deeper layer to all my travel experiences. Because I've seen so much firsthand and built great connections with people on the ground, I love creating really special, off-the-beaten-path trips for clients. Think unique local finds, amazing food and wine, and real chances to connect with communities wherever they go.
So, who are we at 58 Stars? We create tailored, seamless, custom travel insider-style itineraries that leave our clients soul-struck and awe-inspired. Wanderlust, wonder, and insatiable curiosity course through our veins. And we chose 58 Stars as a name because from the earliest days, like-minded explorers used the same 58 stars to navigate the unknown. They trusted these stars. Revered these stars. And we decided that if explorers could use these stars to navigate the globe, why couldn't we highlight them to navigate our clients to some of the most incredible destinations around the globe? 58 Stars brings the world to our clients and brings our clients deep inside the worlds they crave, with connections that run deep and far. When I plan a vacation for a client, I want to leave them soul-struck and awe-inspired. Travel is about the journey and the destination, and I want to be there to handle it for you so all you have to do is take it all in.

This summer, I hired a travel agent for the first time in my life, and learned one thing: I will NEVER book another trip by myself. Working with Mike Salvadore was quick, easy, completely painless, and absolutely fabulous! When I called Mike, I was extremely far behind on my travel plans-I was simply stuck. I was traveling to a country that I'd never visited, and I didn't know where to begin.
Mike met with me for a short period of time, and asked me questions about the types of things that my family likes to do on vacation, as well as budget and timing. The next thing I knew, Mike & his team presented a detailed presentation of our trip. This was not an easy trip to book. The trip included flights to several island locations, cars to inland destinations, and local-flavor excursions. One great surprise was the wondrful private tour guide that took us to see the ruins in Delphi and Olympia. Mike also found the MOST fabulous hotels, And most importantly, it was all EASY !

Mike was excellent! He asked all the right questions up front to help discern what kind of experience we wanted to have, and what type of travelers we were. We'd never used an agent before and we not sure what to expect as we're incredibly picky and like to be in control. He was great at incorporating our wishes and requests into the trip, suggesting things we hadn't thought about, and really taking care of all the logistical elements for us as that's the part we dread. He was responsive and available when we ran into an issue while on the trip, and immediately worked to fix it for us and it ended up being one of the best days of an already amazing trip. We're already talking with him about our next adventure.

Perfect first tip to Cancun, Mexico!

Mike helped make booking our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico so easy and stress-free! We gave him a list of things we wanted on our resort as well as some activities and excursions. The resort Mike found for us was the Ocean Maya Royale, and it was absolutely beautiful! It was our first trip to Mexico and we could not have asked for anything more :) We took a Catamaran boat tour to the Isa Mujeres, went snorkeling in a lagoon, toured a cave, and went ziplining. We had a blast! I highly recommend going through Mike for your vacation needs, I know we will definitely be using his services in the future!

Mike is a phenomenal travel agent. This was the second European trip he planned for us and we cannot rave enough about the service he provided. My family has always had Greece on our bucket list and Mike helped us to fine tune this trip so that it was perfectly suited to us. I could not be more blown away and thrilled with the two-week trip to Italy that Mike put together for me and 10 of my friends to celebrate my 50th Birthday.
The planning of the trip was so much fun - There are so many options with Italy, and Mike guided me through choosing an itinerary which focused on Italian food and culture, unique experiences mixed with luxurious down time.
Some highlights: Our group were the only patrons at a Michelin Star restaurant on a Monday night - turns out the restaurant opened that night just for us! The food & service were incredible!

Amazing Rome Adventure

I booked a trip with Mike to safari in South Africa that was scheduled for Summer of 2020 and I have no idea what we would have done without him. Mike was proactive and helpful as we went through the complex process of moving the trip out to this year and making changes to the schedule. We never could have done it on our own. On top of that Mike planned us a vacation that exceeded our expectations in every respect. We were not sure what we wanted the trip to be and he was detailed in his suggestions and patient with our indecision. When we decided to add another leg to our delayed trip he came up with an amazing visit to Jordan based on our vague requests that we never would have imagined. Incredible Santorini Honeymoon!

He connected us with an awesome tour guide in Naples, a very unique experience in the Abruzzo region, and accommodated our last minute travel change requests. Would highly recommend Mike to plan your next trip. This was our first time using a travel agent and it’s hard to imagine using anyone else. Mike was great from the start. After reading the reviews online we had a good feeling, but one call with Mike and we were sold. He was a great listener and provided a draft itinerary for us very quickly. He didn’t force anything on us and always had our best interest in mind. He was always quick to respond and answered a ton of questions for us during the months leading up to our trip. He was instrumental in making our honeymoon the best trip of our lives!

Unforgettable Trip to Colombia

Mike was fantastic to work with. He is very responsive to emails/inquiries and is a true professional. He really listened to what my husband and I wanted out of our trip to Colombia and planned accordingly. He was spot-on with the accommodations and activities he chose. Mike went above and beyond my organizing personalized details. For example, we had lovely notes, wine, snacks, and even a framed photo waiting for us at our hotels since Mike had coordinated with the hotels and informed them that it was our wedding anniversary. We would not have been able to plan this trip without Mike. He found local gems that we would never have found on our own while at the same time avoiding overcrowded tourist traps. Stress Free and Wonderful Travel!

Mike was wonderful to work with! We met him about a month before our trip - barely any time at all - during peak summer travel season. He immediately got the ball rolling and made time for us - our initial conversation happening just moments after our first email. He took the time to get to know us and really asked thoughtful questions about what kind of trip we wanted to have. And then he made it happen! We didn't need to lift a finger and I can tell you - that was a huge relief! Before we knew it we found ourselves in Greece - with a perfectly balanced trip! Amazing Itinerary, Perfectly Curated!

For our first trip to Africa, we were pretty nervous and unsure of ourselves. We knew we wanted to see Cape Town, go on safari and then try gorilla trekking. But we had no idea the combination could be so completely wonderful at every turn. From the accommodations in central Cape Town and the day trip to Robin Island to the easy and exciting flights up into Zimbabwe and our first of two incredible safaris there, to an unbelievable stay at a gorilla trekking lodge in Rwanda – Mike made the whole thing look and feel completely easy. To plan our trip to Iceland, we contacted 58 Stars. We connected with Mike over Zoom & he gained an understanding of our interests. Mike prepared a beautiful itinerary hitting all of our marks. We had some last-minute changes and Mike was very accommodating.

Our trip to Greece in Sept / Oct 2026 was our first time working with Mike. Since we were visiting 4 different places, we wanted to use a travel agent to handle the logistics. He was responsive from the beginning and made planning easy. The trip itself was seamless. In-country communication with our travel partners was excellent, and we didn't have to worry about anything. What an incredible trip- truly. We had the time. of. our. life. The trip, from the arrival in bali to the departure, went absolutely perfect. We loved the people, culture, the atmosphere, the views, the food, (no bali belly woohoo), the accommodations, and i can go on and on. but most importantly, the guides, who were by our side throughout the excursions just wow. They were so well educated with the island, punctual, thought us so many things we would have never been exposed to, just by being in the cars, and driving to point A to point B. I was so so sad to say bye to bali but to say bye to them (had tears lol).
But we loved everything, you truly planned it to a T. We loved the flow of everything, from white water rafting (so fun) to the food tour ( SO YUM) the bikes really like I can go on and on.
The accommodations I mean WOW, i have never felt so lux and appreciated at a stay. So thoughtful!!!! The food at the hotels were amazing too.
It was really amazing, I needed a vacation from my vacation. It was that good. We loved the planned schedule, on days we had nothing.. we were like what now!!!! but when we found out how much fun downtown ubud was we went to those spots!!
The speed boat I mean omg it was so much FUN. The views were fabulous- our captain, the team was great and helpful along the ride.

Fabulous trip to Greece & Turkey

I had a wonderful time and so enjoyed the cruise and excursions. I had a few issues due to the heat/humidity and couldn't continue with the Naples excursions but that wasn't the guides fault. The concierge people were fantastic and so very helpful. The guide I had for the Vatican excursion was wonderful and so knowledgeable, as well as the guide for Istanbul. I really enjoyed visiting Mykonos, it was easy to get around and the guide was so helpful with making sure we got the whole experience of the Island. Thank you for everything!

Mike's first trip he planned for us was a complicated two-week trip to Japan for six of us. He knocked it out of the park. We upped the ante when we next asked him to plan a trip to Egypt, for 38 of our friends and family. We just returned and every one of our travelers said the trip far exceeded their highest expectations. You can trust Mike with any travel planning, simple or complex. Just want to thank you for all your time and effort in creating our fabulous family vacation. We had a wonderful time.Naples, Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi coast were out of this world. The trip was amazing- such a great mix of food for the soul and food for the body. so meaningful to have spent some solid time in Lourdes, it worked out that the train strike tuesday took travel out of our hands as an option! The tours were good. we had a stand-in on the lourdes tour as the guide had a sick child, and the substitute was probably less knowledgeable but had her own flavor and insights, especially related to her life as a farmer in the region ?? which i enjoyed. the food tour in San Sebastian was great, very good guide, and the e-bike tour was also a great way to see the city and the guide was great too. Amazing Anniversary trip to Bali

Over the last year we have been working with Mike to plan our 10 year anniversary vacation to Bali. We just got back and he knocked it out of the park! We spent the first half of our trip in Ubud and the second half in Seminyak. The hotels that Mike picked were absolutely perfect. Beautiful, romantic, comfortable. He let each hotel know that it was our anniversary and they both had special ways to congratulate us. We were in Bali for 10 days, but we were able to do so many more excursions than we would have otherwise because of how well everything was planned. Mike worked with partners to execute all of the excursions, so we were with the same guide and driver the entire time. We didn't have to think about how to get anywhere or where to go because the guide and driver were so familiar with the areas and the activities that everything worked like clockwork. The best trip imaginable

We were BLOWN away by how wonderful everything was. To start, the villas were beautiful; and continued to get better through the trip with each location. Absolutely a combination of romantic yet breath taking views. Our guide, Agung, was absolutely phenomenal and would recommend no other in Ubud. He was so informative and hospitable.
Our activities were awesome. We were able to squeeze in atv riding and some monkeys while there. Although, the swings were shut down due to weather on days we had time, the weather only hindered our trip once. It was our last full day, to watch the kecak dance and dinner. Even mountain biking was fun, even though we were definitely sore the next few days. Between that and trekking large stairs, we certainly got our workouts in. Our favorite, of course, was the Balinese spiritual healing, energy transfer, and palm reading. We also learned we needed the healing after coming back up those stairs to the temple (??).

Beyond our expectations

Many moments were beyond what we could have even imagined. Though I usually plan our own trips, Greece was an unknown to me. We decided to use Michael because he had expertise in the area. More than we realized.
His choices of hotels and activities showed he really listened to what we wanted. We received what we asked for and more and stayed in our budget.
A couple of glitches...
The AC at Ionian Blue was not worthy of a 5 star hotel. It never was lower than 25° C. Jim moved our bed directly under the unit so we could sleep at night. Otherwise the amenities and service were stellar. Being able to jump into the Ionian Sea from the dock made us forget about the AC.
Finishing the trip at Athens Capital Center with a day of no activities was perfect. Close enough to sight see if we wanted or just stay put and enjoy the pool with a view of the Parthenon.

The first trip I booked with Mike, I can't overstate this enough--it was a billion times better than any trip I had booked for myself. I have traveled to Europe many times on my own, which was fine. But the suppliers Mike uses are just better. The experiences are just cooler, more inventive and not something I would have ever known the value of without him. One of my favorite guides we met through Mike is someone I now have had him book for me THREE times!!! Another favorite experience; I think this might have been the third trip, he suggested a hotel stay way off the beaten path in Tuscany and it was our whole group's favorite!! The special extras we got there were so unexpected and made it even more fabulous which I couldn't have imagined. I won't go anywhere now without Mikes thumbs up! I should also mention that it is very comfortable for me to be honest about my budget which may change depending on the trip, I don't have to pretend I am someone I'm not!

We absolutely loved Italy and were not wanting to come home. Our favorite experience was Capri with the private boat tour and the private tour with Paolo. Everything went so smoothly without any hiccups. We loved everything we had scheduled and the free time to go explore the cities on our own. Our guide, Gennaro in Amalfi Coast, was absolutely incredible and adjusted our days to have the best experience with the weather. He got us a private pizza making class in Naples with a professional pizza maker. He made Naples one of the spots we wished we spent more time in. Our Greece trip was great - really liked the logistics of going to Athens (city, historic sites, great food), Crete (largest island, lots to explore in hiking the gorge, loved that, and taking the ferry along the Southern Coast, wineries), and Santorini - crowded yes, but postcard perfect and we really enjoyed the catamaran - it was much more than a sunset cruise with stops at swimming locations l along the way. The bike ride was a great surprise because it allowed us to see a quieter side of Santorini, and our guide was great getting into the small backstreets of the neighborhoods. We just returned from the most amazing two week trip to Italy & we have Mike to thank for all of our wonderful memories! Form the beginning of working on the trip, Mike was extremely easy to work with & made a few revisions to our itinerary before we finalized which we appreciated. Before arriving to Italy, we had an app with all of our information & plans (including trip tickets) which made the trip a breeze. During our trip, Mike proactively made & communicated necessary adjustments to a few things on weather or road closures which made for a stress free & ideal vacation (we were able to have great weather for all activities because of adjustments he made). Our Honeymoon

Mike helped plan our honeymoon, which was an absolute dream of a trip. He organized everything for us. When he sent over the first draft out our itinerary, there were a few things we wanted to change, & he was able to do that no problem. When we arrived in Greece, EVERYTHING was taken care of for us. The pick-ups, drop-offs,, excursions, etc. He also planned several/all of our tours privately, so we were not with a huge group, which we appreciated. It was a much more authentic, personal, and intimate experience. We had never used a travel agent before, so when we asked for a zoom meeting to get to know Mike better, he was able to arrange that quickly. Mike also planned the trip perfectly, starting with a busy schedule towards the beginning of the trip, that slowly tapered into a more and more relaxing experience as we went on. You can tell that Mike is very experienced with Greece and all of its rich history and culture. We plan to use Mike with all our future international trips!

An unequalled six weeks in Japan

Mike designed an amazing Japan trip with some especially hard parameters that we imposed. We will definitely work with him again. We had already decided on a motorcycle group trip and wanted to add a week prior and two weeks after, so there were some complex tie-ins. For example, we kept the rental motorcycle for a week and Mike figured out a great route from Kyoto forward, allowing us to return the bike in Nagoya before flying yo to Kyoto for a few days. The logistics were perfect, and the local guide selection was key to our experience. We experienced the best of Japan, from luxury hotels to local ryocans. Thanks Mike!

We had a wonderful experience in both Bali and Vietnam! The guides assigned to us: Wes, Pho and Vinny were excellent. Patiently answering all of our questions, acting as our liaison to smoothly facilitate our activities and interactions. Having a Destination Asia guide greet us at each airport made us feel welcomed and in good hands. We certainly were glad to not be in the long lines worrying if we had done all prep to enter correctly. The drivers: The law-less vehicle flow, congestion, and traffic, fascinated us but we were very happy to not be navigating it. We appreciated the high level of personalized customer service the recommended hotels provided. We loved the activities, hiking, biking, rafting, which gave us a fun way to explore the countryside. We learned a lot during the home visits, cooking demonstrations, farming and temple visits. Thank you for recommending Vietnam, we enjoyed what we were able to see and do in the short time we were there.

Favorite Vacation

We decided to celebrate our 30th anniversary we would go to Greece. We have always made travel arrangements ourselves accepting that there may be some “hiccups” along the way. We wanted this trip to be special. Mike arranged a trip that well exceeded our expectations. Traveling this summer has not been easy, particularly with flights. We did not have any issues and were grateful for only one stop each to and from Athens. Each hotel was a perfect choice for us. Our hotel in Naxos was amazing.. We were very happy to be staying in Imerovigli in Santorini. I do not think we could have experienced this trip without Mike’s expertise. Due to wind, on the morning that we were scheduled to take the ferry from Naxos to Santorini, all ferries were canceled. Their partner in Greece, AFEA particularly Afroditi was in touch with me all day. She booked us on a later ferry and communicated with transfer and hotel. I highly recommend 58 Stars and will be working with them on our next adventure.

Mike is an absolute pleasure to work with. He planned this trip for a group of 8 friends to celebrate a milestone birthday, and everyone had a blast. Our hotels were in excellent locations, and we had thoroughly entertaining evenings in 2 different tents at Oktoberfest. In Austria, we loved the private walking food tour in Vienna, as well as biking and wine tasting tours in the nearby countryside. I'll start off by saying that this was the best vacation of our lives - it couldn't have been better! Working with Mike was a breeze - he made it incredibly easy for us. He listened to what we wanted and made an itinerary, fitting in everything we wanted to do (and we wanted to do a lot of things) and giving us a few options on hotels/activities. The hotels we stayed at were unbelievably beautiful and luxurious - honestly, they were probably the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The whole trip we felt so taken care of and special - almost everything we did was private so we could be on our own schedule, and enjoy just us. There were no glitches the entire time because Mike made sure everything was seamless throughout. For a big trip like this we were nervous to leave it in someone else's hands but we were so so glad that we did. I would HIGHLY recommend Mike to plan your vacation! Mike helped my wife and I plan a trip to India and he was organized and very insightful during the planning process. The people who he set us up with in India were amazing! The tour guides were incredible, the drivers were safe, timely, and reliable, and I wouldn't travel to India any other way! We had a couple complications with our flights (airlines fault, not Mikes), and Mike was easy to get ahold of and on top of it every step of the way. Mike is the best travel agent around! He partnered with us to create the most amazing Italian itinerary for our family. We went to Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Venice. Mike has been truly professional. I started working with him in 2020 when I was trying to figure out how to get to Europe with all of the various travel restrictions. He took a small deposit and then worked with me continuously until we made it happen. My flight had delays and false information but Mike and his team worked very hard to help calm my nerves and find out what was actually going on (even on a Saturday). Moving onto 2021, Mike set up a fantastic trip to Greece for me and my partner. He helped with Safari suggestions for Africa and a flight back to the US over Christmas. In 2022 he has provided suggestions for trips to Italy, France, and even Morocco. I was always skeptical about working with travel agents because I felt like I was capable of doing the work on my own. I was wrong. Working with Mike has elevated my traveling experiences time and time again.

Contacted Mike because my brother used his services for his trip to Italy and he was raving about his trip.
