My favorite things! My family, Disney, and Hawaii

Hello! I am Kimberly Mannahan, also known as "the Princess Prof." I am a college professor and travel lover! I have been teaching Psychology at the college level for almost 20 years. I fell in love with traveling when I visited New York City, San Francisco, and Nova Scotia as a teenager. I grew up in a small town in South Carolina so these destinations were very different experiences and I was absolutely hooked! One of my favorite travel adventures was flying into Prague with a return flight out of Rome 10 days later. I had no hotel reservations nor a clear plans for how I would get from Prague to Rome. Wandering around central Europe with no agenda was thrilling - and I made my flight back home just in time. I also lived in Hawaii for a year, on the Garden Isle of Kauai, and visited Maui and Oahu often. All of these combined experiences have prepared me well for a career in travel planning. 

My husband and I relocated to South Georgia about 7 years ago and when my son was 4 we decided to take him to Disney World since we live so close, only about 3 hours away. While my son liked it, I fell in love! It really took me by surprise because I had been to Disney World many times as a child and liked it, but seeing it through my son’s eyes was a completely different experience. I had an absolute blast and became a little obsessed. I have spent the last several years studying and researching the parks and visiting whenever possible. I have taken a very scholarly approach (haha!) and poured over every book, podcast, and publication on Disney planning I could get my hands on. I honestly believe planning the trip is half the fun! We became Disney World Annual Passholders 2 years ago so we visit often (about every 2 months) so I am able to stay current and provide my clients up-to-date experience in the parks! I have helped so many friends and family plan their Disney trips, that becoming a travel planner seemed like the logical next step.

I was intimidated by a completely new industry, but I love a challenge so I jumped in! Travel planning allows me to bring together my passion for sharing knowledge and teaching and my love of all things travel, especially Disney! Since joining my agency, Magical Moments Vacations, I have been through extensive training and am now very knowledgeable and capable of booking travel anywhere, although I specialize in Disney destinations, cruises, Europe, Hawaii, and all-inclusive resorts. I look forward to helping you plan an amazing adventure!
