Australia Specialist

G'Day Australia 2023

Just this year, in 2023, I became an Australia Specialist by taking many courses to learn about Australia and what it has to offer my clients.

By completing that course, I was able to be in the running to be chosen to go to Cairns, Queensland to participate in the G'Day Australia Conference in October '23 with an end in South Australia for the post-familiarization (travel agent trip). Out of 37,000 applicants across 95 countries, only 300 agents were chosen, and I was lucky enough to be one of them.

Over the course of 4 days in Cairns, we went to the Great Barrier Reef and then go to work during the other 3 days with 112 meetings, 10 minutes each, for 129 vendors. This allowed us to find out about vendors like tours, hotels, airlines, and sites that work with us to get our clients exactly what they want when they travel to Australia. Though it was a rigorous conference, it was a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience.

After that, we were all split up into groups to go somewhere else in Australia for a the next 4 days on an experiential FAM (travel agent trip). I was chosen to go to South Australia where we stayed in Adelaide to taste wine and food and then went over to Kangaroo Island, an off-the-beaten path destination that's full of wildlife, nature, and farm-to-table food, wine, and spirits. 

Though I've sold Australia several times before this, I now can't wait to get out there and get my clients more personalized itineraries full of great adventure and fun!
