My father recently became interested in genealogy and discovered that his routes in Scotland went back several centuries.  My siblings and I decided to surprise him with a once in a lifetime trip to visit the village where his ancestors were born (it's called Thornhill, and it is just as charming as you imagine)!  It was a wonderful experience...we were even able to visit the church my great-great-great grandfather helped to build.

There are so many incredible sites to visit throughout this region of the world.
