Tasmania is the heart-shaped island located south of mainland Australia.  It's one of the more over-looked destinations in Australia and you don't often hear of travelers visiting the island: but you should!  Tasmania offers amazing scenery and offers some of the cleanest, freshest air in the world.  From beautiful mountain scenery to gorgeous beaches you'll find you can spend a week or more in Tasmania.  The locals are friendly, the produce is fresh, the seafood is great & you'll never forget your encounters with the Tasmanian Devil!

Here's some "must sees" while you are in Tasmania.  Your Aussie Specialist can help you find the perfect way to spend your time in Tasmania.

Hobart: The Capital City of Tasmania.  You could stay in Hobart and do a variety of day trips out to see some great areas:

Port Arthur, an 1830's Penal Settlement and National Heritage site
Tasman Sea Cruise: set sail out of Stewart's Cove & see amazing coastline & cliffs: perhaps spot a dolphin or whale along the way.
Bonorong Wildlife Park: visit these small wildlife conservation center and see some unique animals: Wombats, Echidna, Kangaroos and of course the Tasmanian Devils.  Take the "Night Tour" and see animals that normally come out at night to feed.  Hand feed an Echidna, or watch the Devils come out for a little snack & much more.

Freycinet National Park: kayak, hike, swim, explore!  Visit one of the top 10 beaches: Wineglass Bay!  Relax at a lodge, or indulge at a 5-Star Resort after a day of exploring all that Freycinet has to offer.  Make a stop at Kate's Berry Farm in Swansea for some fresh berries and ice cream!

Cradle Mountain: looking to get away from it all?  Head to Lake St. Clair National Park that encompasses Cradle Mountain.  The fresh air and clean water will draw you in and you'll find you won't want to leave.  Hiking trails from easy (Dove Lake) or more challenging (Overland Track) offers something for everyone.  Watch for wild animals (Wombats, Wallabies, birds & more) to come across your path!

Love to hike?  Tasmania is a Nature State of Australia.  You can take a 3/4/7 day walking adventure across Tasmania's beautiful countryside.  Check out Maria Island, The Bay of Fires Walk or Cradle Mountain Huts.
